Laryngectomy

Does your voice feel strained, tired, hoarse or tremulous?

The Center for Speech and Language, T.C., LLC treats voice disorders in children and adults

There are many reasons for voice disorders, some of which are temporary, such as trauma to the vocal cords due to shouting at a sporting event or concert. Some require treatment and include such diagnoses as:

  • Vocal Cord Nodules and Polyps
  • Vocal Cord Paralysis
  • Paradoxical Vocal Fold Movement
  • Spasmodic Dysphonia.
  • Muscle Tension Dysphonia

These disorders need to be diagnosed by a physician, and therapy recommended.

Depending upon the diagnosis, the Center may use techniques such as breath control, steady use of air flow from the lungs during voice production, pitch and loudness modification and relaxation exercises to mention a few.
