Language/Cognitive Difficulties

The Center for Speech and Language, T.C., LLC treats language/cognitive disorders in children and adults.

A language/cognitive disorder can be defined as a significant delay in the use and/or understanding of spoken or written language.

Language disorders can effect both children and adults.

A language/cognitive disorder may range in severity from mild to profound.  It may be developmental or acquired.  Individuals may demonstrate one or any combination of communication disorders.  A communication disorder may result in a primary disability or it may be secondary to other disabilities.

Symbolic language disorders can be a result of a primary progressive aphasia.

Symbolic language disorders are common when a diagnosis of dementia is involved.

Our staff is trained in the treatment of language and cognitive disorders.
